The University of Salford LGBT

The LGBT Society aims to help people who may self-define as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Trans meet other like minded people. We know that sometimes LGBT people can feel as though they are alone, especially when away from home, so joining the LGBT Society is a great opportunity to meet and socialise with other LGBT people from Salford University.
We meet up on a Tuesday evening and do different stuff each week which always tends to involve some time in a bar! We hope that we will be able to provide something for everyone. We have had film Rocky Horror nights, cheap theatre trips including Raggamuffin Productions as well as a float in Pride 2006. Also we have always been actively involved within the
NUS LGBT Campaign . New for this year, for those of you with sports on your mind, we are thinking of going to watch varied sporting events from MUFC to The Village Spartans and The Stingers WFC.
The society has a STRICT ‘no outing’ policy. There are no circumstances under which we will make your sexuality public knowledge. Because of this we tend not to initiate conversations when we see you about with a group of people, we are not being rude but also may be being dozy! We also understand that attending the LGBT meetings can be a nerve-wracking experience so feel free to email us at
info@salfordlgbt.org so we can arrange for you to meet someone from the committee beforehand to accompany you.
Remember the Society belongs to the members not the committee so please don’t hesitate to contact us and tell us what you want to do.
We hope to see you at the meetings,
Hugs the LGBT Committee.
